Thank you so much Dilip, you have been a brilliant guide and it has been so lovely to meet you. Thank you for the pictures they are great and also thank you for all the photos you have taken for us, we have many memories there to last a lifetime. I will definitely recommend you to anyone that comes to Nepal, hope to see you again.
Just returned from a fabulous and exhilarating trek with Majestic Himalaya. They took me to the Mahakuklung region in East Nepal, the southern part of Everes, Nepal. A trek which was special to me for personal reasons and which their organisation of accommodation home stays, well prepared food and porters and guide support was excellent. Many thanks Majestic Himalaya entire team.
I left the hotel fairly earlier, accompanied by my awesome guide, Dilip Kulung. It was already pretty hot, but I have never let Asia’s high temperature detract my determination to visit historical sites, monuments, temples and ruins… And there was no way I would hesitate to visit the birthplace of Lord Buddha here in Lumbini. It took pretty much the full day to cover the three zones. There is LOTS to see there and I did not miss much of it: from the Cultural Center, to the birthplace itself (Mayadevi Temple) to all the international monasteries in both the West Monastic and East Monastic Zones, as well as Japan’s Peace Pagoda. The place is impressive beyond words… I am not a religious person by nature, but I love to study religions, and so a trip to Buddha’s birthplace was a no-brainer since I was already visiting Nepal. If you ever decide to go, get in touch with Dilip S. Kulung at Lumbini Development Trust. He is also Marketing Director for Majectic Himalaya Treks & Expeditions… I have never had a more qualified guide in my life and I have been around 63 countries so far. That alone should give you an idea of this guide’s competence! An incredible place to visit while in Nepal !!
We went to visit Nepal for our Honey Moon tour, we met Dilip. He is a wonderful guide! We laughed a lot with him and he’s a perfect photographer!! We spent a lot of good time with him. We love him! Dilip is very gentle, and it is not difficult to communicate with him if you don’t know English very well. He taught us some Nepali words too and he brought us in a delicious typical restaurant! Dilip is a force of nature and the time just flew. Thanks Dilip!!!
“Our one week Langtang Valley trek with Majestic Himalaya was just incredible! As first time trekkers in Nepal we were somewhat nervous about the experience. However from the off set they were thorough in meeting with us, explaining the (very reasonable) costs, daily itinerary and what we needed to bring. Our guide, Birga, really knows his stuff! He was very professional, throughly took care of us from trekking, ensuring we had the best possible lodgings, and making sure our food was cooked well. He was also great fun, with a wonderful sense of humour and very friendly. He even made a few changes to the itinerary towards the end of our trip to fit our interests and fitness levels. The Langtang Valley trek itself was mind blowing. The level was challenging but also manageable, with Birga providing regular breaks and checking in on us and our pace frequently, something we witnessed some guides neglecting to do. You get to see a huge variety of landscapes, from lush green jungle and waterfalls all the way to ice capped mountains. Lodgings picked out by Birga were all of a good standard and generally better than we expected! Some with jaw dropping views that we certainly won’t forget. Additionally the people we met along the way were wonderful. We enjoyed many a night around the wood burning stove playing cards with other guests and guides. Overall we felt very safe, comfortable, well fed and utterly blown away by this wonderful experience. I can’t thank Majestic Himalaya and Birga enough.Hope to see you all again!”
In the 2 – part Monastic Zone, divided into Mahayana and Theravada zones, stand ornate temples, stupas and monasteries built with funds from Buddhist sources in many different countries. Each is unique, most reflecting the architecture of the parent country. Some are completed, many still under construction, and some just beginning to be built. The most visited of these, at least when I was there with my group in January, were the Golden Lotus stupa complex (Germany) and the Chinese monastery complex. Our tour leader Dilip was so knowledgeable and friendly person. I would highly recommend Dilip and Majestic Himalaya.
This was a magical experience and we had the whole site to ourselves. We were met at the hotel by our guide, Dillip and two rickshaw to take us to the Monastic Site. After a short ride we arrived at the first temple, the birth place of Budda. Dillip was a first class guide and full of the history of the place. We had photos taken outside under the Budda Tree and then on for a full day around all the Temples of the site, most of which where built by various Countries. Some of the temples where quite breath taking. We had a wonderful time and it was all due to our guide. I was surprised how quiet and relaxing it was . It could be down to the Karma of Budda or the shear lack of tourists. This area was not touched by the earthquake and is a must see.
Amazing place ! 3rd century BC ancient monuments are the most interesting. There are more than 25 international Buddhist monasteries from different Buddhist countries. Unbelievable to see different Buddhist cultures, arts, architecture in one place. Thanks a lot Majestic Himalaya and Dilip taking us there.
Recently we did amazing cultural tour including Buddha’s birthplace Lumbini. Lumbini is the timeless place, land of compassion and fountain of world peace. In kapalivastu, we have seen a group of archeologist from UK were excavating the ancient Shakya’s palace. Chitwan national park was another biggest attraction of the trip. From Pokhara we saw massive mountain peaks including Fish Tail. Thanks a lot Majestic Himalaya and Dilip, our guide. He is so friendly, funny and knowledgeable tour leader.
