Mt. Everest 8,848m (29,028 ft ) is highest mountain in the world on the border of Nepal and Tibet. Everest is named in English and received its official name in 1865 in honor of Sir George Everest, the British Surveyor General (1790–1866). Mount Everest was first climbed on May 29, 1953 by Sir Edmund Hillary from New Zealand and Tenzing Norgay from Nepal. They ascended through to the Everest South Col from the Khumbu Glacier and continued their ascent to the summit via the Southeast ridge. Mount Everest expedition begins at Lukla after 35 minutes mountain flight from Kathmandu. We trek through the numerous Sherpa villages; Chaurikharaka Phakding Namche Tengboche Pheriche Lobuche Gorakshep and finally to the Mt. Everest base camp. Our Sherpa climbing guides set up the first camp , camp II and camp III then continue ascend to Mt. Everest summit. Minimum 2 months holidays required for Mt. Everest Expedition as well as good physical fitness and previous climbing experience. Majestic Himalaya is delighted to offer the world-class service in the Everest Base Camp (EBC) and other higher camps of Mt. Everest from its South face in Nepal. Our Sherpa Climbers will take you very gently from sea level to the highest peak of the world.

Day 01 :  Arrival in Kathmandu (1300m)

We will be waiting you at Kathmandu international airport holding a signboard with your full name so that you could recognize us so easily. When you come out, we will take private car to get 4* hotel in the heart of Kathmandu city. Shortly you will do check in and get refreshed. Then  in evening we will have a fantastic welcome dinner together at one of the Nepalese famous kitchen which introduces you a very unique Nepalese cuisine.

Day 02 :  Kathmandu sightseeing & getting prepared

This is the valley where flourished Buddhism and Hinduism together over the centuries. The ancient architectures of Buddhist monasteries and Hindu temples are just spectacular. As this is the capital city of Nepal, people live together  from different walk of life and ethnic communities.  After a breakfast, we start our guiding tour to the UNESCO world heritage sites; Kathmandu Durbar square, Monkey temple and Bouddhanath stupa; the major Buddhist sites. At the same day , you will be briefed in short by your expedition leader.

Day 03 :  Flying to Lukla & Trek to Phakding - 2,840m/9,315ft

An early flight to Lukla and landing on a steep mountain runway brings us to the start of our trek at the village of Lukla. Once we reach there, you will have quick breakfast. Then we will proceed towards Phakding which is slightly downhill from Lukla, so it will be comparatively easier day in your trek.

Day 04 :  Trek to Namche Bazar

Today we we walk through a beautiful Sherpa villages along the Dudh Koshi river crossing  many suspension bridges.  The trail climbs through the forests and bridges until we reach the confluence of the Dudh Koshi and Bhote Koshi rivers. After a final steep ascent of about two hours we get our first sight of Mt. Everest peering over the Lhotse-Nuptse ridge. Upon this juncture, we stop for a while to admire the view. We still need to hike about 1.5 hrs to reach Namche Bazaar, a trading center of Everest region.

Day 05 :  Rest at Namche Bazar

This is the scheduled ‘acclimatization’ day for this trek. We either spend the day taking hiking to Thame or Khumjung  or relaxing and exploring Namche Bazaar itself. We further climb up to the famous airstrip at Syangboche. Just above the airstrip is the Everest View Hotel, a Japanese scheme to build a deluxe hotel with great views of the highest mountains on Earth.

Day 06 :  Namche -Tengboche

The trail leads moderately flat with superb view of Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam and close up view of Thamserku, Khangtaiga. The trail continues wild lives spot of musk deer, colorful pheasant. Trail descend to Dudh Koshi river where few lodges and series of picturesque water driven prayer wheels. Cross suspension bridge over Dudh Koshi River a steep climb through pine and juniper forest, walk about 2 hours bring us to Tenboche. The famous  Monastery with the background of Ama Dablam, Nupte, Mt. Everest and many more peaks.

Day 07 :  Tengboche to Dingboche
Morning views of Everest and magnificent Ama-Dablam, walk leads downhill for few hours to the bridge over Imjatse River, after the bridge walking on open country where the tree lines disappears only for few sparse vegetation and juniper bushes, walking on the gentle uphill for a while to reach at Pangboche village at 3,900 meters, the last permanent village before Dingboche and beyond, from here a slow climb to Somara for lunch and continue walk on the nice terrain with last climb to Dingboche village.
Day 08 :  Dingboche to Lobuje

We are now well above the tree line and our walking today brings us to Dusa from where we descend to a stream at 4580m. Immediately above we reach the teahouse of Dughla and continue to a ridge, which has several memorials to Sherpas killed on expeditions to Everest. Continue along the moraine of the Khumbu Glacier, with views of Kala Pattar and Pumori to reach Lobuche.

Day 09:  Lobuche to Everest Base Camp

The trail to Gorak Shep goes ahead through the lateral moraine of the Khumbu Glacier with the views of. Everest along with Mt. Pumori, Mt. Mahalangur, Mt. Lingtern, Mt. Khumbutse, Mt. Nuptse, etc. As we reach Gorak Shep, we will find snow-capped mountains looming all around us including Mt. Everest. We further move towards Everest Base Camp and finally we see tents pitched in the vast area of glaciers for Everest and Lhotse expedition members and the dangerous Khumbu icefall, the killer of hundreds of mountaineers.

Day 10-63 :  Preparation and climbing period of Everest

These days are the major climbing days for you to ascend the summit of most awaited Mt. Everest. After some day’s acclimatization and exercise you will be taken to the 2nd camp to be closer to the summit of (8,848m) where you will be provided food for high altitude. We are allowed to trek from camp 1 to camp 2 or vice versa for more practice and acclimatization. Finally we wish for your success to reach in the summit.

Day 64-69:  Getting back down to Lukla and fly back to Kathmandu

After successful climb of Everest, we head back down to Lukla to catch the flight for Kathmandu. On the way back down we will repeat to see amazing landscapes and Sherpa hamlets and culture.

Day 70 :  Final departure to sweet home!

We will transfer you to the airport and bid good bye for your onward journeys.Today your Nepal stay is going end !  Majestic Himalaya representative will drop you off at the airport approximately 1 hour before your scheduled flight. We wish sweet journey  for your way back to home.
