Naya Kanga Peak 5844m is a shapely mountain that rises to the west of Ganja La in the Langtang Valley. The peak is widely popular among the trekking peaks of Nepal. Equally challenging and adventurous, Naya Kanga Peak Climbing with Nepal Guide Treks is an excellent opportunity for exploring and gaining the alpine peak climbing experience. From the summit, splendid views of Shishapangma 8046m, Langtang Lirung 7245m, Dorje Lakpa 6990m, Yala Peak 5500m, Gangchempo 6,387m and other snow capped peaks can be seen.

Day 01:  Arrive at Kathmandu (1300m)

Majestic Himalaya representative will meet you at the arrival gate of Tribhuuvan International Airport (TIA), Kathmandu holding a Majestic Himalaya signboard. You will then be transferred to your chosen hotel to relax and freshen up. That evening we will collect you from your hotel and take you out to a welcome dinner in a typical Nepali restaurant where you’ll witness a cultural dance traditional to the area.

Day 02 :  Kathmandu valley sightseeing and getting prepared

Today after breakfast we start a guided tour to several of the most historical and spiritual attractions in Kathmandu which are also listed as UNESCO World Heritage sites. We visit the historic Durbar Square, the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupatinath, the famous ‘Monkey Temple’ (Swayambhunath) and Buddhist shrine (Bouddhanath), which is also one of the largest stupas in the world. Also our guide will give you short brief about our overall trek activities that we are gonna do. We get checked all required equipment this day.

Day 02:  Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1,550m), 5-6 hours

Drive from Kathmandu to Syabru Bensi by bus via Trisuli Bazar and Dhunche(popular town). You will witness nice scenery of White Mountains of Mt. Annapurna II, Manasalu, Ganesh Himal and other minor peaks are visible from Kakani (along the route) and as well as green scenery of hillock, rivers, village, while driving to Syaprubesi. Syabrubesi is an attractive village with large stone houses.

Day 03:  Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel (2,380m), 5-6 hours

The first day excitement trail crosses through the Bhote koshi River flowing down from Tibet and following the Langtang Khola. After a visit to the Gompa of Guru Rinpoche, follow the stone-paved main street out of town over Langtang Khola. After crossing the suspension bridge the trail gradually ascend up to Bamboo passing by landslide. The trail goes through the sub tropical forest which is cover by oak and maple, massive spruce, fir and blue pine. We pass through the forests of oak and rhododendron. The variety wildlife; yellow-throated martens, wild boars, Langur monkeys, red pandas and Himalayan black bears etc. are inhabitance of the forest. Afterwards, your trek ascends gently to Rimche (2400m). And at the end your trail is level to the Lama Hotel for the overnight stay.

Day 04:  Lama Hotel to Langtang village (3480m), 5-6 hours

Today we have a pleasant walk and follow the trail through rhododendron and pine forest for around three hours to reach Ghora Tabela where we stop for lunch. The surrounding area is dense wild habitat and many small babblers with lot of herbal can be found here. After lunch we walk another three hours on the scenic trail takes us to Langtang village where we stop for the evening.

Day 05:  Lama Hotel to Langtang Village (3330m), 5-6 hours

We enter the dense forest filled with oaks, birch , hemlock and mountain bamboo where we will have opportunity to spot wild monkeys and several species of birds. Our trail continues through forest passing through a lone teahouse at Gumnachok and from there climb steeply towards Ghoratabela. There is an army check post at Ghoratabela where trekking permits will be checked. From here we will trek through small settlements of Chyamki and Kangtangsa before making a short climb to reach Langtang village.

Day 06:  Langtang village to Kyangjin Gompa (3870m), 4-5 hours

Get up an early morning at 5:30 am. The trail climbs gradually to Sindum and to Yamphu (3640m). Crossing the Laja Khola then climbs a moraine to a viewpoint where you can see Kyanjin Gompa and the dramatic icefall flowing from Langtang Lirung. After Kyanjin Gompa, climb to the top of Chorkari ri (5050m). Enjoying spectacular panoramic mountain views of the whole Langtang Himalayas, including Langtang Lirung (7,244m), Langshisa Ri(6,810m), Gyanghempo (6,888m) Ganjala peak, Nayakang.

Day 07 :  Day of acclimatization

Today is the rest and exploration day of the trekking. We visit the monastery and the cheese factory or may walk up the moraine to see the spectacular ice faces and tumbling glaciers of Langtang Lirung or ascend Kyanjin Ri(4350m) and Tserko Ri (5,000m), which is highest point of this trek. Hike easy for a breath-taking panorama of the Langtang Lirung, Langtang range, Kinshung, Yansa Tsenji. We also have options to do a side trip to Langshisa Kharka. There are several alternatives sided trips, the surroundings areas of North having many smaller uninhabited valleys.

Day 08 :  Kyangjin Gompa to Nyengang Kharka (4430m), 4-5 hours

We descend downhill for about twenty minutes to cross a suspension bridge over the Langtang Khola and then follow the uphill trail that climbs all the way to Nyengang Kharka. We will trek along the trail with juniper shrubs on both sides and with good views of Langtang Lirung and the glacier.

Day 09 :   Nyengang Kharka to Naya Kanga High Camp (4960m), 4-5 hours

We will walk over the trail that goes over and along the glacier. We will continue to climb on a steep trail that heads up to a good camping site where we will set up our High Camp. During our climbing trek we will have great views of Langtang Lirung, Ganchenpo, Yansi Tsenji Peak and other surrounding peaks.

Day 10:  RAcclimatization day at Naya Kanga High Camp

To ensure the successful summit climb of Naya Kanga Peak, we will have to spend one more day for acclimatization at the high camp before climbing to the summit of Naya Kanga Peak. Today we will make sure that everyone is properly acclimatized and our Sherpa crew will make necessary checks on climbing gears and other equipment.

Day 11:  Summit Naya Kanga Peak (5844m) and back to Nyengang Kharka, 8-9 hrs

We will make an ascend to the summit by following the guidance of our recommended climbing experts. Once at the top of the summit of Naya Kanga Peak, we are rewarded with striking views of Langtang Lirung, Dorje Lakpa, Pemthang Karpo, Gangchenpo and other snow capped high peaks including Shishapangma that rises across the border of Tibet. After spending quality time at the top, we descend following the same trail back to Nyengang Kharka.

Day 12:   Nyengang Kharka to Langtang Village, 5-6 hours

After successful summit of Naya Kanga Peak , we retrace our steps by following the same trail that descends down to a suspension bridge over Langtang Khola and then make a climb towards Kyangin Gompa. From there we will follow the trail that is a rather easy downhill trek all the way to Langtang village.

Day 13-15 :  Return back to Kathmandu

We will head back down to Kathmandu following the same route. Enjoying a lot seeing different ethnic Tamang villages, rivers and rolling green hills  and many more.

Day 16 :  Final departure to sweet home

Our adventure ends today! A Majestic Himalaya representative will take us to the airport approximately 3 hours before our scheduled flight. On our way home, we have plenty of time to plan our next adventure in the wonderful country of Nepal.
