Yala Peak Climb with Gosaikunda and Helambu Trek begins in Kathmandu with sightseeing of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Next, we drive to Syabrubesi and begin trekking from there. We trek through forests, small villages, Kenjin Gompa before reaching the base camp of Yala Peak. We begin climbing the peak from the sixth day of our itinerary and summit on the seventh. Yala Peak (5550m) is considered a trekking peak by the Nepal Mountaineering Association, and is a relatively simple, non-technical climb. From the summit, we get exceptionally good views of the Himalayas including Langtang Lirung (7246m), Dorje Lakpa (6990m), Gangchempo (6388m) and Shishapangma (8027m). On our 16-day Yala Peak Climb with Gosainkunda and Helambu Trek, we also reach Gosaikunda which is one of three lakes in the immediate surroundings. It is also an important place of pilgrimage for Hindus. Additionally, we trek in the beautiful Helambu region with its amazing landscape complete with apple trees and colorful monasteries. After leaving Gosaikunda, we cross the Laurebina Pass and trek for one more day before driving back to Kathmandu.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1300m)
Majestic Himalaya representative will meet you at the arrival gate of Tribhuuvan International Airport (TIA), Kathmandu holding a Majestic Himalaya signboard. You will then be transferred to your chosen hotel to relax and freshen up. That evening we will collect you from your hotel and take you out to a welcome dinner in a typical Nepali restaurant where you’ll witness a cultural dance traditional to the area.
Day 02: Kathmandu: Sightseeing and trip preparation
Today after breakfast we start a guided tour to several of the most historical and spiritual attractions in Kathmandu which are also listed as UNESCO World Heritage sites. We visit the historic Durbar Square, the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupatinath, the famous ‘Monkey Temple’ (Swayambhunath) and Buddhist shrine (Bouddhanath), which is also one of the largest stupas in the world. Also our guide will give you short brief about our overall trek activities that we are gonna do. We get checked all required equipment this day.
Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1,550m), max 7 hours
Drive from Kathmandu to Syabru Bensi by bus via Trisuli Bazar and Dhunche(popular town). You will witness nice scenery of White Mountains of Mt. Annapurna II, Manasalu, Ganesh Himal and other minor peaks are visible from Kakani (along the route) and as well as green scenery of hillock, rivers, village, while driving to Syaprubesi. Syabrubesi is an attractive village with large stone houses.
Day 04: Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel (2,380m), max 6 hours
The first day excitement trail crosses through the Bhote koshi River flowing down from Tibet and following the Langtang Khola. After a visit to the Gompa of Guru Rinpoche, follow the stone-paved main street out of town over Langtang Khola. After crossing the suspension bridge the trail gradually ascend up to Bamboo passing by landslide. The trail goes through the sub tropical forest which is cover by oak and maple, massive spruce, fir and blue pine. We pass through the forests of oak and rhododendron. The variety wildlife; yellow-throated martens, wild boars, Langur monkeys, red pandas and Himalayan black bears etc. are inhabitance of the forest. Afterwards, your trek ascends gently to Rimche (2400m). And at the end your trail is level to the Lama Hotel for the overnight stay.
Day 05: Lama Hotel to Langtang village (3480m), max 6 hrs trek
Today we have a pleasant walk and follow the trail through rhododendron and pine forest for around three hours to reach Ghora Tabela where we stop for lunch. The surrounding area is dense wild habitat and many small babblers with lot of herbal can be found here. After lunch we walk another three hours on the scenic trail takes us to Langtang village where we stop for the evening.
Day 06 : Langtang village to Kyangjin Gompa (3870m), max 5 hrs trek
Get up an early morning at 5:30 am. The trail climbs gradually to Sindum and to Yamphu (3640m). Crossing the Laja Khola then climbs a moraine to a viewpoint where you can see Kyanjin Gompa and the dramatic icefall flowing from Langtang Lirung. After Kyanjin Gompa, climb to the top of Chorkari ri (5050m). Enjoying spectacular panoramic mountain views of the whole Langtang Himalayas, including Langtang Lirung (7,244m), Langshisa Ri(6,810m), Gyanghempo (6,888m) Ganjala peak, Nayakang.
Day 07 : Day of Acclimatization
Today is the rest and exploration day of the trekking. We visit the monastery and the cheese factory or may walk up the moraine to see the spectacular ice faces and tumbling glaciers of Langtang Lirung or ascend Kyanjin Ri(4350m) and Tserko Ri (5,000m), which is highest point of this trek. Hike easy for a breath-taking panorama of the Langtang Lirung, Langtang range, Kinshung, Yansa Tsenji. We also have options to do a side trip to Langshisa Kharka. There are several alternatives sided trips, the surroundings areas of North having many smaller uninhabited valleys.
Day 08 : Kyanjin Gompa to Yala Base Camp (4600m) 5-6 hours
We trek along a rocky glacier trail to reach the Yala Base Camp. From the base camp we get astounding views of Ganchenpo, Naya Kang, Tserko Ri, and Yala Peak. After reaching the base camp, our climbing guides will conduct a basic training on climbing techniques including the best way to use climbing gears such as ropes, ice pick, harness and crampons. Overnight in Yala Base Camp.
Day 09 : Summit Yala Peak (5500m) and return to Yala Peak Base Camp, 8-9 hours
We start our summit to Yala Peak early in the morning. From the summit we get panoramic views of the mighty Himalayas including Shishapangma, Dorje Lakpa, Ganchenpo, Naya Kang, Tserko Ri, Langtang Lirung and others. After spending some time at the summit, we head back to the base camp. Overnight in Yala Base Camp.
Day 10: Yala Peak Base Camp to Langtang village, 7-8 hours
We retrace our steps to the Langtang village.
Day 11: Langtang village to Thulo Syabru, 5-6 hours
Again we take a relatively familiar route, through woods and along the river valley passing Bamboo Lodge, where we join an uphill trail which will lead us to the Sherpa village of Thulo Syabru. Overnight in Thulo Syabru.
Day 12: Thulo Syabru to Gosainkunda, 7-8 hours
Today we get to enjoy fantastic panoramic views of the Himalayas including the Annapurnas, Hiunchuli, Manaslu, Ganesh and Langtang. We follow a ridge for most part of the day and catch a glimpse of the first of the holy lakes. The third lake, Gosaikunda (4380m), is of particular religious and cultural significance for the Nepalese and is one of Nepal’s most sought after pilgrimage sites. The lake is surrounded by mountains on almost all sides and has a great ensemble of nine other lakes to accompany it. Every year during Janai Purnima in August, hundreds of Hindu pilgrims visit the lake for a holy bath. The large rock at the center of the lake is said to be the remains of a Shiva shrine. Overnight in Gosaikunda.
Day 13: Gosainkunda to Tharapati (3600m), 7-8 hours
We move around the lake’s shore before ascending towards the Laurebina Pass (4610m). The Helambu region begins at the Lauribina La (pass) and descends to the Melamchi valley. The trail is rough and crosses moraines, but is well marked with cairns. We pass through three more small lakes before reaching the pass. We climb a small hill and enjoy excellent views of the area. Our trail passes through Suryakunda, Ghopte and forests before reaching Tharepati. Overnight in Tharepati.
Day 14: Tharapati to Timbu, 6-7 hours
Today we leave Tharapati to Timbu which will be our last walk as we will be driving from Timbu. We descend through lush rhododendron forests and pass several chortens and mani walls before reaching Timbu. The village is well cultivated and beautiful. Overnight in Timbu.
Day 15: Drive from Timbu to Kathmandu, 4-5 hours
From Timbu we drive to Kathmandu enjoying the changing landscape of Nepal. After reaching Kathmandu, we check-in to our hotel and freshen up and take a rest. In the evening, we celebrate the successful completion of our journey with a farewell dinner.
Day 16 : Final departure to sweet home!
Our adventure ends today! A Majestic Himalaya representative will take us to the airport approximately 3 hours before our scheduled flight. On our way home, we have plenty of time to plan our next adventure in the wonderful country of Nepal.
