The main highlight of this  natural and spiritual trek is the deepest gorge in the world carved by the Kali Gandaki River, which originates in the Tibetan plateau to eventually flow into the Ganges in India.Not to far from Johnson you find Muktinath, the famous pilgrimage site for Buddhists and Hindus. To Hindus, Muktinath is a sacred place of salvation. To Buddhists, Muktinath( 3710m) is a place where the great sage guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava) came to meditate.The area is a perfect place to find fossilized ammonites, known locally as Shaligram, which are found all along the upper reaches of Kali Gandaki.The trek finally emerges into the wide valley of Jomsom, a Himalayan Shangri-la. Along the route, fascinating traditional villages of Gurung, Magar & Thakali will keep you enthralled.

Day 01 :  Arrival in Kathmandu (1350m)

We will be waiting you at Kathmandu international airport holding a signboard with your full name so that you could recognize us so easily. When you come out, we will take private car to get 3*** hotel in the heart of Kathmandu city. Shortly you will do check in and get refreshed. Our tour leader Dilip will explain you about the overall glimpse of our full 13 days tour then in evening we will have a fantastic welcome dinner together at one of the Nepalese famous kitchen which introduces you a very unique Nepalese cuisine.

Day 02 :  Kathmandu sightseeing and getting prepared

This is the valley where flourished Buddhism and Hinduism together over the centuries. The ancient architectures of Buddhist monasteries and Hindu temples are just spectacular. As this is the capital city of Nepal, people live together  from different walk of life and ethnic communities. After a breakfast, we start our guiding tour to UNESCO heritage sites; Kathmandu Durbar square, Monkey temple and Bouddhanath stupa; the major Buddhist sites. Also if the time permits, we do Pashupatinath temple which is the biggest Hindu holy shrine in this Indian subcontinent.

Day 03:  Fly to Pokhara (823m) and trek to Tikhendhunga (1552m): 30 min fly, max 4 hrs trek

We fly to Pokhara early in morning and enjoy amazing views of the valleys, hills and mountains from our airplane. After landing in the Pokhara airport, we will have short drive to Naya Pul. From here, our trek will begin. The first day leg will include a moderate hike up to the culturally rich village of Tikhedhunga. Tikhedhuna is a small village and can serves as a comfortable place to stay overnight.

 

Day 04 :  Tikhedhunda to Ghorepani (2750m), max 7 hrs trek

The trail ascends a steep stone staircase to the large Magar village of Ulleri that lies at an elevation of 2080 meters. Above the village, the trail climbs gently through pastures and cultivated fields all the way to Banthanti. Amazing views of the Himchuli Himal can be seen from the village of Banthanti. The sight of the mountains in the distance, emerging from the clouds, is quite mystical. Commencing the trek further on, the trail is a gradual ascend to Nangethanti. In the winter, the trail to this settlement can be covered with snow. From Nangethanti, we will climb to Ghorepani, a famous village that lies at 2850m of elevation.

Day 05 :  Ghorepani to Tatopani (1190m), max 6 hrs trek

Early morning walk to Poon Hill 3210m for sunrise less than 1 hour. Poon Hill is the one of the best breathtaking panorama view point in Nepal. We can see the Dhauligiri to Manaslu range including the famous Mounthain peak Machhapurche- Fishtail. After Breakfast proceed trek down on the Kaligandaki valley crossing Chetra, Sikha, Ghara then we catch the path from Beni in Ghar Khola. The treks follow the seasonal road to Tatopani 35 minutes from Ghar Khola. Here is the hot spring, so we take hot spring bathing experience for couple of minutes.

Day 06 :  Tatopani to Ghasa (2110m), max 6 hrs trek

After an early morning breakfast, we will follow the trail that stretches along Kali Gandaki River that flows through the gorge between Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Mountains. We will reach pretty small village of Dana in couple of hours. Walking past Dana, we will arrive at Rukse Chhahara, a wonderful waterfall. Moving further through Kopchepani, we will climb uphill to Ghasa where we can find pretty village of Thakali ethnics. Ghasa is a great village to enjoy bird watching.

Day 07 :   Ghasa to Marpha (2680m), max 5 hrs trek

We ascend on a steep trail through a forest to the Lete Khola river. After walking further, we reach the Lete village. Next, we continue our trek on a trail east of the river and reach Larjung Village. On our trek today we also see beautiful apple orchards and vegetable farms. Marpha is known in Nepal for its tasty apples. This is the first village in the country to start systematic plantation of an apple.

Day 08 :  Marpha to Kagbeni (2810m), max 5 hrs trek

Pass through Jomsom town, cross the Kali Gandaki River and follow the trail northwards up the gravelly, wind scoured valley and along Kali Gandaki River to Kagbeni, with good close up views of Nilgiri. This village is situated at the confluence of the Kali Gandaki and Jhong Khola flowing down from Muktinath. The red-colored monastery belonging to the Shakya sect dominates this first of many Tibetan-style villages.

Day 09 :  Kagbeni to Muktinath (3710m), max 6 hrs trek

We would be awestruck by the beautiful view of Dhaulagiri mountain range across the valley of Kali Gandaki. We make our way through the barley fields and the amazing landscape. Simply beautifully colored hills of upper mustang are mesmerizing. Muktinath the the one of holiest pilgrimage site for Hindu and Buddhist both. Hindus worship Muktinath temple considering it to be one of the eight most sacred shrines of Lord Vishnu.  The Buddhist regard it as a sacred place where Guru Rinphoce meditated. Buddhist Gompa, Vishnu Temple of Jwalamai and the well known eternal flame add beauty to this place.

Day 10 :  Muktinath to Jomsom (2715m), max 6 hrs trek

We trek down to Jomsom passing through the villages Kagbeni, Jharkot and Khingar. One cannot really get over the awesome view of Dhaulagiri and Nilgiri throughout the trail. We walk past Kagbeni to reach Jomsom along the banks of River Kali Gandaki. Jomsom is the Headquarter of Mustang district and we can spend some time here to explore the area and interact with the locals.

Day 11:   Fly back to Pokhara, 15 min flight

We take an early morning flight to Pokhara. The airplane passes through a gorge between Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountains. After arriving in Pokhara, will some beautiful famous places like Fewa Lake and Davis Falls. We can have boat ride to Baraha temple that is located in the center of giant Fewa Lake.

Day 12:  Fly from Pokhara to Kathmandu, 25 min

We fly to Kathmandu in the afternoon or early in the morning. We will have a farewell dinner in the evening.We can spend the day taking the much needed rest or catch up on some last minute shopping.  Our flying to Kathmandu will give us a incredible views of sky touching Himalayas.

Day 13 :  Final departure to sweet home

Your journey in Nepal comes to an end today! the Majestic Himalaya representative will drop you off at the airport approximately 1 hour before your scheduled flight.
