Mount Pumori (7161m) is located inside the heart of Everest and Khumbu region of Nepal which stands just eight kilometer west of Mt. Everest. The word Pumori is assumed as a daughter mountain of Mt. Everest through the meaning of Pumori is “unmarried daughter” in Sherpa dialect. Comparatively, Mt. Pumori is easiest mountain for expedition in Nepal which was firstly ascended by German-Swiss expedition member – Gerhard Lenser in 1962.Pumori expedition is very suitable for those climbers who want to climb 7000m above mountain in Nepal – & this might also be a great opportunity to gain experience for preparation of other challenging mountains like Mt Annapurna Expedition, Mt. Everest Expedition, and Mt. Manaslu Expedition etc.

Day 01 : Arrival in Kathmandu
We will be waiting you at Kathmandu international airport holding a signboard with your full name so that you could recognize us so easily. When you come out, we will take private car to get 4* hotel in the heart of Kathmandu city. Shortly you will do check in and get refreshed. Then in evening we will have a fantastic welcome dinner together at one of the Nepalese famous kitchen which introduces you a very unique Nepalese cuisine.
Day 02 – 03: Official Formalities and Expedition Preparation
This is the valley where flourished Buddhism and Hinduism together over the centuries. The ancient architectures of Buddhist monasteries and Hindu temples are just spectacular. As this is the capital city of Nepal, people live together from different walk of life and ethnic communities. After a breakfast, we start our guiding tour to the UNESCO world heritage sites; Kathmandu Durbar square, Monkey temple and Bouddhanath stupa; the major Buddhist sites. At the same day , you will be briefed in short by your expedition leader.
Day 04 : Kathmandu - Lukla - Phakding (2,652m), 3 - 4 hrs.
An early flight to Lukla and landing on a steep mountain runway brings us to the start of our trek at the village of Lukla. Once we reach there, you will have quick breakfast. Then we will proceed towards Phakding which is slightly downhill from Lukla, so it will be comparatively easier day in your trek.
Day 05: Phakding - Namche Bazaar (3440m), 5 - 6 hrs
Today we we walk through a beautiful Sherpa villages along the Dudh Koshi river crossing many suspension bridges. The trail climbs through the forests and bridges until we reach the confluence of the Dudh Koshi and Bhote Koshi rivers. After a final steep ascent of about two hours we get our first sight of Mt. Everest peering over the Lhotse-Nuptse ridge. Upon this juncture, we stop for a while to admire the view. We still need to hike about 1.5 hrs to reach Namche Bazaar, a trading center of Everest region.
Day 06 : Acclimatization Day at Namche Bazaar
This is the scheduled ‘acclimatization’ day for this trek. We either spend the day taking hiking to Thame or Khumjung or relaxing and exploring Namche Bazaar itself. We further climb up to the famous airstrip at Syangboche. Just above the airstrip is the Everest View Hotel, a Japanese scheme to build a deluxe hotel with great views of the highest mountains on Earth..
Day 07 : Namche Bazzar to Tengboche (3,870m) , 5 - 6 hrs walk.
The trail leads moderately flat with superb view of Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam and close up view of Thamserku, Khangtaiga. The trail continues wild lives spot of musk deer, colorful pheasant. Trail descend to Dudh Koshi river where few lodges and series of picturesque water driven prayer wheels. Cross suspension bridge over Dudh Koshi River a steep climb through pine and juniper forest, walk about 2 hours bring us to Tenboche. The famous Monastery with the background of Ama Dablam, Nupte, Mt. Everest and many more peaks.
Day 08 : Tengboche to Pheriche (4,240m), 5 - 6 hrs
We pass through the forest of briches, conifers & rhododendrons with possible sights of snow pigeons, golden eagles, goshawks in tha trail. The route climbs past some magnificently carved mani stones to Pangboche. The views of Amadablam appear magnificent. We enter into Imja valley passing through beautiful array of fields enclosed by stone walls leaving behind alpine meadows to Pheriche (4,240m).
Day 09 : Rest & Acclimatization day in Pheriche.
We make side trip hiking on the hills for acclimatization.
Day 10 : Pheriche – Lobuche (4930m), 5 – 6 hrs.
The valley begins to narrow as we pass through Dusa, the yak herders place and Phulung Karpo. We walk up a small ridge and then contour round the base of the Khumbu Glacier. From here, we take a short steep climb to the terminal moraine of the glacier from where the views are stunning. We Arrive at Lobuje (4,930m).
Day 11: Lobuche - Gorak Shep (5170m), 3 – 4 hrs.
The trail to Gorak Shep goes ahead through the lateral moraine of the Khumbu Glacier with the views of. Everest along with Mt. Pumori, Mt. Mahalangur, Mt. Lingtern, Mt. Khumbutse, Mt. Nuptse, etc. As we reach Gorak Shep, we will find snow-capped mountains looming all around us including Mt. Everest.
Day 12: Gorak Shep - Kala Patthar – Pumori Base Camp ( 5300 ), 5 - 6 hrs
We start our hiking early in the morning with the target to reach Kalapatthar for sunrise to witness the first day light shining on Everest and gradually making yellowish glittering mighty massive. Walking with cold temperature and chilly wind, gasp and slow steps will be paid off as we reach Kalapatthar for the breathtaking panorama of Himalayas and the bet and closest views of Pumori, Chnagtse, Everest, Lhotse and Nuptse, Amadablam etc.
Day 13-26: Climbing Period
From the base camp we climb through the glaciers for approx. 4 hours to Camp 1 at 5700m. From Camp 1, climbing of approx.480m. on the face with 40-60 degrees slope and through a snow wall reaches camp 2 at 6200m. on a narrow ridge. From camp 2, approx.450m.climbing through ice with 30-60 degrees slopes and passing through ice walls and crevasses will take you to camp 3 at an altitude of 6480m. . This section is prone to avalanches from big seracs hanging on the shoulder above. Passing through crevasses, and climbing up to Pumori cliff leads to the summit.
Day 27-30: Coming back down to Lukla
We head back down to Lukla airport to catch up our flight to Kathmandu. We come down crossing different rivers, alpine forest and Sherpal hamlets.
Day 31: Fly back to Kathmandu
After the breakfast, we will check in to Lukla airport and board the plane to Kathmandu. Flight is again depended on weather conditions so delay could happen! In Kathmandu, in the the evening,we will host a farewell dinner at one of the finest restaurant.
Day 32 : Fly back to sweet home
Today your Nepal stay is going end ! Majestic Himalaya representative will drop you off at the airport approximately 1 hour before your scheduled flight. We wish sweet journey for your way back to home.
